When it comes to deciding how to sell online, there’s a number of options available, but some solutions fit your needs better than others.
Running a business brings along a number of challenges, so picking a platform with the right features is essential to get the most out of the digital world.
BRAVE was approached by V1 Imports, a niche motocross importer & distributor of accessories & apparel. They were using WooCommerce – a popular WordPress plugin – and they weren’t getting the results they wanted.
(the old home page)
BRAVE recommended changing to Shopify, giving them not only a more affordable and easier to use option, but a stronger, more functional platform to showcase the brand & their products. The first step was migrating the existing store, which carried around 250 variable products, as well as transferring existing customers & hundreds of orders.
(the new home page)
Along with new branding, the new site features a more responsive design on mobile devices, faster load times and a greater focus on visual content compared to the previous barebones design. Add in Shopify’s built-in SEO friendly features, and more people can find V1 Imports if they need imported motocross gear.

Shopify vs WooCommerce
Shopify is an all-in-one platform with all the tools you need to sell online, right out of the box. It’s very easy to use with plenty of support options, with a number of integrations that can added to help grow your business. It scales very well, powering everything from small businesses to global giants. It all depends on your Shopify plan.
As Shopify is an all-in-one platform, it’s a lot more budget friendly, as the web hosting & security is looked after within the platform.
WooCommerce is a self-hosted extension that allows you to sell on your existing WordPress website. While WordPress can be very powerful, combining it with WooCommerce can ramp up the difficulty curve. Not only does it increase the complexity of maintenance & design, it can ramp up costs, as the price of the platform doesn’t include web hosting or other security measures.
Why do we pick Shopify?
