BRAVE was engaged to migrate a very outdated ecommerce (nopCommerce) website.

Improve functionality on all devices, enhance user experience with product filters, add shipping / delivery and search capability.


They needed a change of platform.

ERA Nursery operates a modern facility using the latest air vacuum seeding and robotic seeding transplant equipment. They needed an improvement in the customer’s online experience for all responsive devices via an enhanced store design, multiple payment options and improved site speed thanks to BigCommerce’s fast cloud hosting.

The steps.
First step
Brainstorming &

“We wanted to create an online store to sell Australian native seedlings that would provide a better online experience for our loyal customers.”

The key objective : provide a real time shipping cost system which functions with very specific packaging requirements.

Second step

To build a webstore with a simple and user friendly website that’s functional across all devices including mobile, and user demanded features, such as multiple payment options.

ERA want to promote sales through the existing site and regular email campaigns.

Third step
Delivery &

With the existing store ported over, ERA has full control over running their store, without a steep learning curve thanks to BigCommerce’s easy-to-use backend. Staff can add or modify products a lot easier, without any danger of breaking the design, or adding incorrect data. Analytics was setup to not only show an improvement in traffic, but also potential for new ideas to sell more. With the addition of an effective real time delivery quoting system, the conversion rate has increased by 226%!

Fourth step

Brave conducted an online training session to key personnel, which explained how to add the content into their site and what was important. Brave highlighted the relevant admin management areas such as; how to read and process orders, where to locate important customer information, payment reconciliations and how to manage stock/inventory for individual products or bulk updates.


Brave initiated an email campaign, which announced the launch of the new online store and provide links to both the website and account access details. It was important for ERA to engage with their existing customers. Email marketing is highly crucial for Ecommerce stores because it allows you to target active customers and make them feel special by recognising and thanking them for their commitment and feedback.
